Clear the PNG parameter block from Stable Diffusion
SD's parameters are not in XMP. They sit in the PNG tEXt chunk keyed “parameters” — the prompt, the negative prompt, steps, sampler and seed, all of it.

The PNG tEXt “parameters” chunk, holding the complete generation settings
Different export paths can write different things. The reliable approach is to inspect one sample before batch processing.
Where it writes
| Location | Notes |
|---|---|
| tEXt: parameters | Prompt / negative prompt / steps / sampler / seed / CFG |
| iTXt: workflow | The complete node graph from ComfyUI and similar |
| C2PA | Usually not written |
Pre-upload checklist
- 11. The default options are enough — text chunks are always removed
- 22. Inspect once first to confirm the parameters chunk is there
- 33. For batches, 30 files at a time
- 44. Upload that copy, with no editor or forwarding in between
Common traps
- Cleaning XMP while leaving the PNG text chunk untouched
- Forgetting that the negative prompt is in there too
If it is still flagged after cleaning
That means the trigger was never in the file metadata. It could be an invisible pixel-level watermark, the platform's own visual classifier, or history held on the platform side. None of those live in the metadata layer, and cleaning again will not change them.
The full boundaries are in thedisclaimer; if you just want to confirm the file really is clean, use thewatermark check.
Common questions
What exactly is in the parameters chunk?
Prompt, negative prompt, steps, sampler, CFG scale, seed, dimensions and model name.
Can I reproduce it afterwards?
No. Record the seed and the parameters beforehand if you need to.
Does it affect how the PNG displays?
No. Text chunks and image data are completely independent.
What about SD output saved as JPEG?
JPEG takes the XMP path, and the default options cover that too.
