Remove the AI Info label from Facebook posts
Facebook's “Made with AI” and Instagram's AI Info are one system, and so is the trigger: the C2PA and XMP inside the file.

Cleaning options
Want to look first? Themetadata inspectorlists every field in the file, so you can see exactly what is there before deciding what to strip.
Same Meta decision logic as Instagram; C2PA is read first
The same image in different slots — feed, story, cover — may be three separate files, and each one has to be handled.
What the platform reads
| Entry point | Notes |
|---|---|
| Feed image | Reads C2PA and XMP |
| Ad creative | Each carousel frame is judged independently; clean each one |
| Marketplace photo | Metadata is visible to buyers, which affects trust |
Pre-upload checklist
- 11. Clean every frame of a carousel
- 22. Batch-process ad creative, so nothing is left half-labelled
- 33. Watch GPS and device details on Marketplace photos
- 44. Upload that copy, with no editor or forwarding in between
Common traps
- Cleaning only the first carousel frame
- Running it through Meta's own editor afterwards, which can write new markers
If it is still flagged after cleaning
That means the trigger was never in the file metadata. It could be an invisible pixel-level watermark, the platform's own visual classifier, or history held on the platform side. None of those live in the metadata layer, and cleaning again will not change them.
The full boundaries are in thedisclaimer; if you just want to confirm the file really is clean, use thewatermark check.
Common questions
Is this the same as Instagram?
Yes. Same Meta decision system, same C2PA / XMP trigger.
Does an AI label hurt ad review?
It may. Ad review is stricter about authenticity, so clean everything before uploading.
Can people download the original Marketplace image?
Usually yes, which means the GPS and device details travel with it.
