What is Remove.bg?
Remove.bg is the most well-known one-click background remover. Its official Chinese website positions it as a "100% fully automatic and free" image background removal service: there is no need for manual clipping path after uploading an image. The official claims that with just one click, the background can be automatically removed within 5 seconds, and you can output PNG with a transparent background or directly switch to a white background. Its difference from general image editing software is that it only does one thing and makes it batch-processable and integrable—there are batch editing, API and plugin entrances on the site. The official states that tools and plugins have been developed for the most popular design software, e-commerce websites and computer systems. It should be noted that the official website announced that the matting function will be transferred to Canva. Starting at 9:00 a.m. Central European Time on December 1, 2026, the independent website will no longer be available.

- Before batch processing, first test run a few typical images to confirm that the effects of hair, translucent materials and complex edges meet expectations, then launch the large-scale task at one time to avoid rework of the whole set.
- If you need to connect to your own system, you can check the API documentation and plug-in list on the official website, and evaluate the cost according to the call volume.
- if you already use Photoshop, installing the official extension directly can save uploading and downloading.
- Since the official website announced that the independent site will stop being used from December 1, 2026 (9:00 a.m.
- Central European Time), teams that have long relied on this service should confirm the corresponding entry and migration plan in Canva as early as possible, and check the updated general terms.
- Before uploading images, pay attention to the terms of service and privacy policy on the official website, and confirm the authorization first when involving others' portraits and brand materials.
