What is Miraa?

Miraa is a language learning app developed by Myoland. Instead of a curriculum schedule as its entry point, it uses the videos you’re already watching and the audio you’re already listening to. It converts media into bilingual subtitles for real-time translation while playing. When you encounter something you don’t understand, you can ask the AI directly, then use the "echo" method to repeat it until you can speak it fluently. This design targets the most awkward stage for intermediate learners: they can roughly understand the main idea, but have to guess at all the details. The official website is branded with Myoland, Inc., and a specific commercial transaction law notice in Japanese is attached to the page.

Who is it for?

  • Intermediate learners who study foreign languages via Japanese dramas, American TV shows and YouTube: Stuck on raw content without subtitles.
  • For exam-takers preparing for spoken English tests such as IELTS and TOEFL: They need to listen intently to each sentence, follow along to correct their pronunciation, yet they don't want to only listen to exam audio clips.
  • Advanced learners: They can understand the general meaning but want to grasp the tone, slang, and cultural background.
  • Parents who watch original animation with their children: They want to explain new words while watching instead of just reading the subtitles.
  • Content creators: They need to turn podcasts and lectures into searchable text.

Key features

6
1

Media to Subtitles

Use AI to transcribe audio and video into subtitles, which the official says can turn the media you have on hand into learning materials.

2

Real-time Translation

Subtitles are displayed in your language. As officially described, it translates the subtitles into your native language, allowing you to watch and compare them side by side.

3

Interactive AI Explanation

Select the words or phrases you don't understand and have a direct conversation with the AI. Ask about grammar, usage, or context without having to leave the app to look up a dictionary.

4

Echo Shadowing

Repeat at your own pace following the indicator. The official name for this process is seamless echoing, which emphasizes not rushing to a fixed rhythm.

5

Bilingual Comparison

The original text and its translation are displayed simultaneously. You understand through comparison instead of guessing, and you won’t get stuck on a single word when encountering technical terms.

6

Subtitles as Learning Material

The transcribed text is available for review and search, making it easy to break down a listening passage into a list of new words and sentence patterns; an APK is available for download on the official website, and listening, reading and shadowing are mainly done on mobile devices.

How to use Miraa

  • Start with a 3 to 5-minute segment of a familiar topic: First, turn on bilingual subtitles to understand the content, then turn off the translations for shadowing on the second watch.
  • The transcription result may not be 100% accurate.
  • for proper nouns, personal names and paragraphs with heavy accents, you need to judge based on the context.
  • When asking about grammar, paste the complete sentence to the AI, and the explanation will be much more specific.
  • Asking about just a single word will likely result in a general answer.
  • When shadowing, record yourself first and then listen back to compare.
  • Just repeating without comparison will lead to slow progress.
  • if you don’t understand an entire passage, clarify the key words first before listening to it a second time, and don’t get stuck on every single word.
  • Spending 15 minutes a day is better than cramming for two hours on weekends.
  • Pick materials you are really interested in to stick with it.
  • the language support scope and subscription rules shall be subject to the current official website page.
  • Copyright Reminder: Converting film and TV clips into subtitles for personal study is usually not a problem, but you need to separately confirm authorization for public release or commercial use.
