What is Browser Use?

Browser Use is about "letting AI drive the browser to do work on its own". It has two product lines: one is an out-of-the-box Web Agent that performs tasks independently upon receiving instructions; the other is a cloud browser infrastructure that allows your own Agent, Playwright or Puppeteer to connect via CDP. The official website lists the price at $0.02 per hour for the cloud browser, with a pay-as-you-go model. Eligible registered users can claim a $10 credit without linking a bank card.

Who is it for?

  • Developers doing web automation: who don't want to maintain anti-crawling measures, fingerprints, and proxy pools on their own.
  • Data collection teams: Need to stably crawl pages with login and CAPTCHA requirements.
  • Teams already building Agents: Outsource the browser execution layer and focus on task orchestration.
  • Operations personnel engaged in repetitive processes such as price comparison, ticket booking, and form filling.

Key features

6
1

Web Agent for direct task handoff

The official website states that Agents will "get tasks done fully," covering scenarios such as CAPTCHA solving, shopping, information extraction, login, form filling, travel bookings, and more.

2

Cloud Browser Bypasses Robot Walls

The official conducted a comparison by using the same Agent to access 100 robot-protected sites for a total of 200 visits. The pass rate of Headless Chrome was 3.0%, while that of Browser Use reached 90.5%.

3

Integrate with your own Agent

It supports connecting to Playwright, Puppeteer or your own Agent via CDP, and uses the browser as an infrastructure layer.

4

Benchmarks and Cost

The official website states a score of 82% on the Internal Bench Hard, compared to 62% for Opus 5; bu-fast scores 72.9 in Bench v2.1, with a single-task model cost of $0.11.

5

SUPERFAST Mode

The official website states that a typical task takes 14 seconds to complete, with a model cost of approximately $0.003.

6

Open Source & Compliance

The browser agent is open-sourced under the MIT License; the official website mentions SOC 2 compliance, and the specific certification scope shall be subject to the official website.

How to use Browser Use

  1. 1First run a real small task with the Web Agent, such as extracting the price of a certain page, confirm the success rate and time consumption before deciding whether to connect the API.
  2. 2When connecting your own Agent, prioritize using CDP, and your existing Playwright or Puppeteer scripts can basically be migrated over.
  3. 3Costs are calculated in three parts: "cloud browser duration + proxy traffic + model fees", and the Agent mode adds an additional 20% to the model fees.
  4. 4Before scraping, confirm the target website's terms of service and crawling rules, and only use login states and captcha bypass for accounts you are authorized to access.
  5. 5For production environments, it is recommended to add failure retries and screenshots for evidence; if the page structure changes, the stability of the Agent will fluctuate significantly.
